8 Things to Pack for Iceland in Winter

As many of you have seen if you follow us on Instagram, earlier this year we took an incredible trip to Iceland. On our trip we spent 10 days driving around the island, and along the way we experienced a variety of landscapes, temperatures & weather patterns. So, I put together a list of 8...

Great list! I would like to add to it. When embarking on a trip like this, I’d recommend a nice daypack for hikes or when getting out of the car to explore different sites.
For our Iceland trip, I took two bags: A Cotopaxi Inca 26L bag. This bag is big enough to haul all my gear for the entirety of the trip, or can be used for long day hikes. It has great features and is super comfortable. I used it when we went to Ireland and did long 8+ hour hikes. Additionally, I took a bag that fits in a pocket: PNW’s Sea to Sky bag. This bag folds into a tiny pouch that can fit in a pocket or barely noticeable in a backpack, but when unfurled, is a great lightweight bag that’s enough for multi-hour hikes or just exploring.
These two bags were indispensable to me and made exploring easy and comfortable while hauling quite a bit of gear across the island, but only what I needed for exploring. ReplyCancel

My husband too, he isn’t a fan of the cold, but it was still well worth it. The nature baths are awesome! And I’m hoping we will get to go back in the summer sometime too and see everything in green and do some of the stuff we didn’t get to do this winter. More hikes, whale watching, and seeing those cute little Puffins! Hah. Happy travels!ReplyCancel
